Our orphan sponsorship programme offers vulnerable children a way out of the neglect, abuse and exploitation they face. It gives them a chance to escape their poor living conditions by equipping them with appropriate shelter, education and support so they can go on to build a life that is full of promise and potential. Access to food, healthcare, education, shelter and emotional support are the fundamentals every young child should have, but there are a number of children in communities around the world who are deprived of these very basic essentials. Millions of children live without the love and protection of families, with nothing more than a piece of cardboard for a blanket and neglect almost guaranteed. No child should have to live such a bleak and painful life.
No mother wants to see her children go hungry, our food parcel donations ensure widows can receive support when they have nowhere else to turn. They are valuable lifelines when families suffer the trauma of losing the home’s main breadwinner to a disease, accident or sadly murder. With no rescue, money or support widows become desperate and lost with no ability to feed their family and themselves.
Good higher education is critical to build and maintain a skilled workforce so that India’s dream of becoming a USD 5Tn economy can materialise, however at the Tier II-III (and below), college students have extremely painful and excruciating experiences from accessing even their basic learning resource (the study material itself) to building a career that is half as good as their counterparts (the Tier I College Students). They face major issues of unstacked libraries, unqualified or under qualified professors, extremely paltry college infrastructure, no companies visiting campuses and hence no industry hires, no industry exposure or no mentors assisting them from the industry, borrowed Notes (sometimes friends or sometimes seniors), cheap guidebooks, photocopied material, unable to afford basic reference books. While metropolitan cities enjoy strong educational infrastructure, this is not the case for Tier-II and Tier-III cities, their college students are unable to come out due to the repressive socio-economic conditions that impact their families and these fester into a disease that impacts the economy and its possible economic growth.
We actively involve in rehabilitation program for differently abled children and awareness programmes for parents and caregivers. The students are trained under expert therapist and special Olympic coaches with regards to speech therapy, special education, occupational therapy and sports.
There is a lack of Daycare facilities for children with special needs so there either left unattended or with unskilled care takers. Even lack of school programs negatively impacts the development of a special child who constantly struggles to fit in daily routine which also takes a toll on the career and health of parents of special child. In order to build their self confidence there is a severe need for an inclusive , friendly and relaxing environment where a special child can make friends, learn through activities and become a part of the society.
The hills have become barren and infertile due to soil erosion in the surrounding areas. The relevance of environment management cannot be underestimated , considering the living conditions in this area, which are backward and still very underdeveloped. We felt it is important that the villagers , youth and children realize the value of hygiene and ways to manage the environment.
